# History

All your transcriptions at a glance — searchable and copyable.

## Accessing History

Click the klarvoice icon in the menu bar and select **History**. Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut `⌘ + H` (macOS) or `Ctrl + H` (Windows).

## What Gets Saved?

In History, you'll find all your past transcriptions, neatly organized:

- **Text:** The full transcribed text
- **Timestamp:** Date and time of the recording
- **App:** Which application the text was inserted into
- **Model:** Which transcription model was used
- **Language:** The detected language of the recording

## Search and Filter

Use the search bar at the top of History to search for specific terms. You can also filter by:

- **Time period:** Today, this week, this month, or a custom date range
- **App:** Show only transcriptions from a specific application
- **Language:** Filter by the detected language

## Actions

- **Copy:** Click an entry and select "Copy" to copy the text to your clipboard.
- **Re-insert:** Select "Insert" to paste the text at your current cursor position.
- **Delete:** Remove individual entries or clear the entire history.

## Data Storage

Your history is stored **locally on your device** — no cloud, no servers. You control how long history is kept:

- **7 days** (default)
- **30 days**
- **Unlimited**
- **No history** — transcriptions are deleted immediately after insertion

> **Tip:** History is especially handy when you've accidentally overwritten a text or want to reuse a transcription in a different app.
