# Use Context Mode

Formatting that automatically adapts to your context.

## What Is Context Mode?

Context mode detects which app and text field you're currently writing in, and automatically adjusts the style and formatting of your transcript. The same spoken words can be formatted differently depending on the destination.

## Enabling Context Mode

1. Open **Settings → Context Mode**.
2. Toggle **Context Mode active**.
3. Optional: Customize rules for individual apps.

## Examples

App / Context | Input (spoken) | Output
--- | --- | ---

**Slack** | "I'll be there soon just finishing something up" | I'll be there soon, just finishing something up

**Email** | "I'll be there soon just finishing something up" | I'll be there shortly. I'm just finishing something up.

**VS Code** | "create a function that takes a string parameter" | // Create a function that takes a string parameter

**Notion** | "new task write API documentation" | - [ ] Write API documentation

## Supported Apps

Context mode automatically recognizes:

- **Chat apps:** Slack, Teams, Discord, WhatsApp Web — casual style
- **Email:** Mail, Outlook, Gmail — formal style
- **Code editors:** VS Code, JetBrains, Sublime — technical style with correct formatting
- **Documentation:** Notion, Google Docs, Word — structured style
- **Browser text fields:** Detection based on the current website

## Custom Rules

You can create custom adjustments under **Settings → Context Mode → Custom Rules**. Define per app or website how klarvoice should format.

> **Tip:** Context mode works best with the **Standard** or **Precision model**. In Speed mode, contextual adaptation is slightly simplified to maintain speed.
