# How to Get Better Results

Small adjustments to how you speak and which settings you use make a significant difference in transcription accuracy.

## Speak in complete sentences

klarvoice uses context to determine punctuation and capitalization. Single words or short fragments give the model less to work with. When possible, speak full sentences even for short messages.

- **Less effective:** *"meeting… Tuesday… bring slides"*
- **More effective:** *"We have a meeting on Tuesday, so please bring your slides."*

## Choose the right model

klarvoice offers three transcription models. Picking the right one for your task is the single biggest lever you have on speed and accuracy.

Model | Best for | Trade-off

**Speed** | Chat messages, quick replies, search queries | Fastest, slightly lower accuracy on rare words

**Standard** | Emails, Slack, everyday writing | Good balance of speed and accuracy

**Precision** | Documents, technical writing, medical or legal text | Highest accuracy, slightly longer processing time

You can switch models at any time from the klarvoice menu bar icon or the settings panel.

## Add specialized terms to your Dictionary

If you regularly dictate product names, brand names, acronyms, or technical jargon that the model keeps getting wrong, add them to your personal Dictionary.

1. Open klarvoice Settings.
2. Navigate to **Dictionary**.
3. Add the term exactly as you want it to appear.

The Dictionary is applied to every transcription, regardless of which model you are using.

## Mic placement matters

- Position your microphone 15–30 cm from your mouth.
- Avoid pointing the mic directly at your mouth — a slight angle reduces plosive sounds.
- Reduce background noise where possible: close windows, mute fans, turn off music.
- A headset or dedicated USB microphone will outperform a built-in laptop mic in noisy environments.

## Use Context Mode for automatic formatting

Context Mode tells klarvoice what kind of field you are typing into. When enabled, klarvoice adjusts the output format automatically — a casual tone for Slack, a formal tone for email, structured output for a document editor.

> Tip: If you are getting consistent errors on a specific word, check your Dictionary first before assuming the model is at fault.
